Ordered these for the Strat

Postby Bountyhunter » 23 Jan 2011, 16:29

FENDER MOD SHOP SAMARIUM COBALT STRATOCASTER PICKUPS

I really liked the sound of these in as few vids I watched. I got the set for $131 shipped, so I figure if I really hate them I can probably resell them and be ok. I think they're going to do what I want them to. :cowbell

Are those the samariums that need 1Mohm pots like on an Am Dlx?

I'm not sure about the pots, Ex-Mesa. They are the ones that used to come on the AM Deluxes. Now they're called the N3 or something.

Well it doesn't sound like they are a well liked pickup. :think

I hope they don't suck. They seemed to sound pretty good in the vids I watched. :dunno

I have them in my Tele Dlx. They're nice and quiet and pretty versatile, but they do take away from the typical tele sound. Less twangy. Don't know about the strat pickups.

The guy playing in one of the vids I watched got a nice strat sound as well as a more rocking tone with them. I think they're a good mix.
