YJM100 dimensions(chassis, cutout)???

Postby alexxjian » 03 Oct 2012, 19:57

Hi guys,

So I m still struggling to get my amp fixed:

http://www.marshallforum.com/marshall-a ... china.html

I contacted Marshall, explained everything in detail, but the best thing the rep said was"contact the dealer".
He missed out the whole story. I wrote again but no reply.
Does anyone know if Marshall has ever/can provide a replacement head box ?

Reading this forum and others I found some third parties being able to build a new head box , in the case I don't have any news from Marshall, I ll order a new one.
I ve contacted some, and i got a fast answer(same day).

So they asked dimensions of chassis, cutouts, length, width, height, and depth.

On Marshall site dimensions are 745mm x 290mm x 280mm , but in the owner 's manual it says 740mm x 285 mm x 280 mm. Which are correct ?

Anyone knows the exact dimensions in detail?

Thanks

Alex

American measurements are

Height 11.42"

Width 29.33"

Depth 11.02"

Mojotone.com can make you a replica head box, but it would be slightly smaller then the xlarge head box that is the YJM. This would not affect the chassis fitting in the box. The Marshall dealer also can order a new one.

The YJM Headbox Yngwie wanted for this amp was a oversized Plexi box. slightly larger then the Large plexi box you see a 1959 come in. However the amp will fit in a standard large plexi box. You will want it however to match so best to have one made the size of the original.

Are you sure Surf? I dont think it will fit a standard box it looks as it is too deep!

A 1959 box is slightly smaller. No I am not positive but the depth between the two boxes is only a quarter inch. I had understood that this larger box was chosen just for appearance and not because the chassis is any bigger

1959
Height 8.27"
Width 29.13"
Depth 10.83"

YJM
Height 11.42"
Width 29.33"
Depth 11.02"

I am sorry Surf but those numbers seems a bit off...

The YJM and the JMP1959 have the same dimentions except the depth which is much deeper on the YJM. It can´t fit. The bigger box is the same as my old Major.

Best regards

Those numbers are from Sweetwater, that YJM cab is way more than a quarter inch in depth to the other box shown there so you are right. I guess one would have to measure the chassis to be sure. What do you think?

I messured them
YJM 100 to 273 mm (H) 743 mm (L) 284 mm (D)
JMP 1959 272 mm (H) 742 mm (L) 221 mm (D)

I am a metric guy... :)

The JMP from 1971 has somewhat thinner tolex that could account for a mm or so.
