YJM and Acoustic

Postby Alpeggio » 19 Mar 2013, 08:20

Hi guys, I just want to share this, at last I've got my acoustic tone!
The YJM is on 100watt mode which helped, along with the BBE Sonic Stomp.

This is a noodle from the album I'm working on. Hope you like the tone.

Thanks Sigi, Well you are every Marshall fan's Hero. Its so cool what you have done!
I'm glad you gave this a listen, I thought most people would be put off with the title.
Yes, the guitar in the picture was used here, its a Crafter CTS155C/N, Nylon strings are so sweet.
The thing I like about this tone is the Bass is strong and detailed, but the Treble is rounded, not harsh.

Thanks also to Sikter, glad you liked it, I will post the finished Track when its complete.

Sigi, I nearly fell through the floor when I read that. What a kind offer. Its an 8 track instrumental concept album. I aim to finish it next year. Now I've got my tones in place I will get to work.

Make the launch the 3rd week of August - I'm supposed to be catching up with my missus after her soccer tour of Italy then & am trying to get to Sigi's while I'm over there!!!

I finally pulled out & watched a Yngwie live DVD I picked up in Bali last year (in true pirate fashion it's live in budokan with an extra live show tacked onto the end) & he sounds awesome live - a real rock sound rather than the chainsaw fuzzy distortion both Satch & Vai had when I saw both of them live

Another outstanding an unexpected YJM100 clip Al. I think you are the first guy to run an acoustic guitar through one. :Thumbs

Beautiful. Never tried any acoustic through the YJM... going to try it now. I know that the Vintage Modern in Low Range is fantastic for acoustic guitar also.

Thanks John, I tried it the night before and it sounded awful, so I went back to it and just switched the amp on ( defaults to 100w and no reverb, which helped), changed the on board guitar graphic to a slight mid cut, plugged in the Sonic Stomp, and Wow. I then A/B the pedal on and off and yes, it takes away a little dullness from the tone and makes it bright and punchy, a great studio FX. All the reverb is from the Lexicon unit on the mixer, seems to record better this way.

Thanks Surf, I tried this because I've no room for a dedicated acoustic amp, worked out great. Hope it does for you too!
