It's definitely EL34s then. You would think that if it were to have the DOD booster built in they would have mentioned it here, or is it Marshall usage to reveal this info gradually?

If one reads the pdf on Marshalls web page about the amp it states that the boost only works on the channel 1 high sensitivity input and that it can be used on channel 2 by using the included jump cable back to channel 1. That should mean that the boost is placed on the input of the circuit inside the amp just like using a pedal in front of the amp to boost the signal. Or shouldn´t it? Still it may use the 4th valve and not be like a DOD250. To me a boost in front of the amp doesnt work as good as having more gain in the actual circuit. Maybe if you use an old tape echoe to boost the signal.

Wonder why they had to make it like a Marshall major with a bigger box. Was it because they really needed the space or because Yngwie wanted it since he´s a huge Richie Blackmore fan and He used the Marshall Majors. I would have prefered it in a normal sized Marshall box. it´s very heavy also 24Kg.

:dunno

Whay does the 1987 come in a small box? Why the different size boxes at all? Who knows why some things are done the way they are done. I have no doubt that it is all about appearance.

Everything included in this amp came at the request of Yngwie himself, period end of story, I specifically asked Santiago about this and he said this was Yngwies perfect/dream Marshall and it was up to Santiago to make it happen (and oh man did he), Yngwie prefered the bigbox to keep the vintage look, he also said he did not want to gloss himself on the amp, thus the simply initials of the YJM on the front panel.

Here is a shot of Yngwie I took today standing proudy in front of a few of his stacks, man did I ever want to take one home with me,

Sounds like Yngwie is a class-act! Understated Plexi on the front, modders delight on the back! Love the fact that it really looks just like a Plexi, and, according to the Santiago phone cam video, IS a 1959 if you don't engage the boost. Santiago also said you can install ANY octal power tubes - 6550, EL34, 6L6, KT88 - in any combination, thanks to the auto-biasing feature. Bravo! :clap
Bought, sold, bought about every Marshall ever made!

Well if they had went with the usual 100 watt box but a major is deeper don´t lnow if it´s bigger in more places.
