THIS IS IT!!!!!

Postby romeomotive » 16 Jan 2011, 00:57

My prayers have been answered (it seems) I love the understated front panel, No ugly logo like the afd 100. I hope the distortion sound is comparable to a real plexi. (Surf, please post when you hear in person). The afd 100 has WAY too much gain for what I play. I was considering modding my 1987x, now I am glad I did not, I can finally sell that SOB and get this. Does the search ever end? Now what to do with my JVM? Thank god for forums like this one, even after I sold my 2266 I check this site all the time. Kudos to everyone and keep up the good work. The question now is, when? and how much? Damn those credit cards.

I am looking at getting $900-1000 for the 1987x. It was purchased 10/09 I believe, 2009 serial no. from AMS. No mods, excellent condition. Did see 2 gigs and as a result has a very superficial scratch on the top of the tolex, hard to see unless you are really looking. I think this is a very fair price for these heads, as they rarely last on EBay. If you interested, hit me back and we can exchange contact info and pics of the amp. Thanks.

What's the difference between the 1987x and a Vintage Modern?

Aren't they aimed at similar markets?
