Preamp Tubes

Postby patvh1 » 21 Aug 2016, 11:43

Can anyone tell me the Preamp tube configuration on the Haze 15 head? Is V1 the tube with the metal cap over it? Also, I want to replace the tubes so I have a gold lion, and two tung sol 12Ax7's. What do V1, V2 and V3 do exactly?

I've not seen the Haze 15 but every other Marshall amp I've seen has the metal cover on V1.
As the first preamp tube in the circuit, the metal cover is to protect from interference.
You want a good low-noise tube in here. The Tungsols would probably do a good job.
