All valve distortion?

Wonder since the Haze amps only has three preamp valves is it only valve distortion or is it some little diode lurking around there? Is the master pre or post phase inverter valve?

There are no diodes in the signal path. The master volume is pre phase inverter. Actually the circuit topology of its preamp is somewhat similar to a JCM800 Master Volume amp. The Haze gets its gain through changing the cathode resistor on V2A and adding a bypass cap; the stock 2204 type V2A resistor (10K) actually cuts a lot of gain from the circuit. On a 2204, lower that resistor to around 1.5k and place a bypass cap on it, and you'd be surprised at the amount of gain boost you would get.
