Silent Recording

Postby Jizzmasterzero » 09 Mar 2013, 02:29

I can't believe I am about to ask this but seeing as I'm a total noob when it comes to recording I have to ask.

Do I need the cab connected when silent recording even though I never switch it from standby?

Thanks

Andy

You can do this with some amps such as the JMD1. I dont think the JVM should be used even in standby without a load. Best to keep the cab connected, in standby you wont hear the speakers anyway.

I thought as much, I just didn't want to chance damaging something.

Best to ask silly questions and get proper answers than not ask at all and blow something up.

Hey Andy. My understanding is that you can record in silent mode without a load BUT if you accidently flip the power switch on you're gonna be in trouble. So basically you don't HAVE to have it connected to a speaker cab but it's just the safe way to do things. I hope this helps.
