DSL100 vs jvm210

Rented both to see which I may purchase.
My impressions are:

DSL - nice crunch but balancing channels is a real pain.
Dialing the fizz out with the treble on the gain channel leaves the clean channel lacking

Jvm210 - more open sounding, better clean for sure. Wish the clean volume would work on green- makes it more limiting to have to use the master because the clean is so loud compared to the yellow on the clean channel
Great tones o the clean crunch but struggling to get the OD channel sounding good.
I think it's because marshall is trying to make a metal channel and it sounds like ass so far but I ran out of time so any help is appreciated.
I was convinced I'd like the DSL better but I don't
Glad I rented both

Interesting review, are you talking about the new DSL or the old English made one.
Its a personal thing, choosing an amp, but with high gain amps like the JVM, a higher Master volume level helps with the fizz like 6+. Also speaker choice can come into it. A great way to calm down a fizzy amp is to use G12H55hz speakers.

I kind of look at the JVM 210 as a more modern DSL anyway. Both are set up for a clean and dirty channel but the JVM will offer more options and fine tuning. Good working class amps.

On the DSL set the preamp volume low on the clean channel then you get more high end on the tone. Also having it on crunch also adds some highs i think. Try the JVM 410H. The 210H only has OD2 wich has different mids.
