Makes you wonder how many of those are real brand name guitars and which ones are counterfeit copies?

Who knows? It's probably some random guitar store where he went to take a promo picture of the Epiphone Slash Les Paul and the Gibson Slash Les Paul.

I have a Guitar Player mag from the early 90s from when he was on the cover. It's the same mag where they diagrammed his feedback generator. (I posted that diagram a few months back in response to someone's question.)

Anyway, in the same mag they showed pictures of some of Slash's guitars. He had an original '58 or '59 Gibson Flying V. (One of only 80 or so ever made.) He had a couple of pre-CBS Fenders. He also had a '59 tobacco sunburst Les Paul that Joe Perry once owned. Apparently Perry's wife sold it when they needed money. In short, Zlash had deployed his rock star loot to pick up some very valuable guitars.
Happiness is playing a Gibson guitar through a Marshall amplifier.

True after AFD was released though; prior it was a counterfeit Standard

I'm no fanboy by any means, even if I do have three AFD100s' :laugher

But he has been a HUGE influence on a couple of generations of players.

Good onya Slash.

Yes he does, and that is the thing you cannot take away from him. He was very influential to many young guys picking up the guitar as Page, Blackmore, and Trower were in my generation.

I have no problem with this.
Many Marshall's, and I want more.

I think a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame is exctly the sort of recognition this guy deserves for his accomplishments on guitar and contribution to guitar playing in general.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And he's in just the right company.

I'd like to offer equally deserved congratulations to the other upcoming music inductees to the Walk of Fame; Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block.

Awesome guys and about time!
