Hard times ahead.

Postby slowpokerhino » 31 Oct 2010, 13:22

Well, as many of you know we've been in limbo with our home since February. We've tried to do the "right thing" & hired a mortgage lawyer and were able to get a short sale offer.
However, the bank (Wells Fargo) has been unwilling to accept the offer without getting a substancial (and unreasonable IMO) amount of money from us. $17500 cash or $600 a month for 5 years. Ain't gonna happen.
After 6 months of negotiations the buyer has backed out. Can't say I blame them. The forclosure date is Dec. 13.
To make matters worse, my wife lost her job last month and has been unable to find a new one. My salary covers the bills as long as that doesn't include a mortgage or rent payment.
Hopefully she can find something before the forclosure date or we're screwed.
To those of you who believe in the power of prayer (as we do), I ask that you put my family in your prayers.

Very sorry to hear about that and really hope things work out for you very soon. Life can turn around in a hurry, for better or worse, and we tend to take our good fortune for granted.

Everything can turn in a blink of an EYE!
One day I am riding on a fat Harley Electra Glide Ultra, nice house, nice own firm....and one year later with all these stupid 'crisis' thing people don't spend money on "luxurious" stuff and...company bankrupt, sold the house,Harley gone, wife gone.... So it can turn! But even in this shity situation,it can also turn...good again! So never give up and keep the faith!
This song keeps me on the right track ALL the time, over and over again :

You're in my prayers as well Slowepoke. Even if we've never met or really know each other, we've been chatting around here for some years and I know in my heart you're one of the good guys on this planet. It always hurt me when good people suffer. I really hope for better times for you, and for your country. The finance market really screwed up this time... greedy bastards.

Thank you Tony, that's very kind.
This is the only place I'd even consider posting anything even slightly personal.
Even though none of us here really know each other, I still feel a genuine friendship with the members here. :Cheers
Hell, I "talk" with many of you more than I talk with my "real" friends.

The good news is that this mess is almost over and it looks like we'll be starting the new year with a fresh start.

Just wanted to update.
Found a rental 3 blocks away. Sign the lease tomorrow, start moving in Dec. 1. Lost about 500 sq. feet but will get to keep my music room!
Rent is half what my mortgage was.
Still no job for my wife but she's making progress (getting interviews). Should be okay through the end of the year before I have to start seriously selling gear.
A big thank you to Green Manalishi & to everyone for their well wishes & prayers!
