The link to CNN is a marketing ploy for sure. I mean please lose two phones in a bar; its either than or everyone at apple should be members of AA.

As far as the American Citzen not caring about losing his rights may be true for some; it damn sure isnt for me. I think the Tea Party is the brain child of a emotional unstable group of first graders. I also think they should take all involved in politics in office right now behind a barn and shoot each person. The Dems given in too much and the Repl dont want to resolve anything except not giving into the Dems. So the entire system and its managers need to be removed and allnew political members need to be involved in running a profit making business. Please note I said "Profit making" not the scum that ran our economy into the grown better known as those involved in the real estate and mortgage industry.

There is a effort starting here in Tennesee to get the federal government the hell out of our state. Our Govenor and state Senators are getting involved now, look for the feds to backoff. If they don't it may be the end of Gibson. The Feds seem hell bent to put them out of business.

The US citizens just don't care anymore, and when they cease to care and act, they no longer deserve freedom.
Not all of us, there are plenty pissed off people right now (myself included) no matter what you read or see in the news. Watch what happens here in the US in 2012, that will tell you clearly if Americans no longer give a shit.

This whole thing is stupid IMO. The government is attacking a guitar company who has sold billions of guitars all used with the same wood. WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?!? Why are the just now attacking Gibson? Brazillian Rosewood has been used to make Gibson guitars for a long time now.
Guitars: Fender CS Stratocaster, Guild GAD C-1, Morelli "Flaxwood Custom"
Amps: Fender Blues JR., Roland Cube 30x
Effects: Maxon OD808--> Maxon OD820-->BBE Sonic Stomp-->Boss DD-20 Giga Delay w/ Boss FS-5U-->Strymon Flint

Brazillian has been off the market for a few years, the only company using it even occasionally has been PRS, who seems to have had a stockpile in his back room. Indian is the stuff this is over.

hey how's this guys comment, big government conspiracy type of thing?

Ian Stone says:

Anyone want to bet that Obama is using the “instrumentalities of the federal government,” as Mark likes to say, to hurt the Indian economy and American companies that do business with India? Wouldn’t that perhaps placate the Chinese so they don’t dump the dollar? C’mon, how much you wanna’ bet?

Gibson “may” be important to us. However, it is NOT really of any significance to the overall economy of India/China.
I guess Ian’s comment is some thing to think about and look for trends…
However, it is hard to put much stock in it by itself.

I am more inclined to think “Martin” has some friends in high places… :pimp

While I find the governments approach to be heavy handed,
I would NOT rule out the idea that Gibson was trying some shady tricks. :smoker

I agree 100% with Henry trying to skirt the rules. The first investigation ended with wood being removed that was illegal yet no charges filed. I would be willing to bet Martin does not cut corners or at the very least they are not as high profile as Henry and Co and are better at hiding things....
