Several former NHL players killed

Developing....

A Russian jet carrying members of a local hockey team crashed shortly after takeoff on Wednesday, killing 43 people, including several former NHL players.

Some of the former NHL players identified so far are
Brad McCrimmon
Karel Rachunek
Ruslan Salei
Karlis Skrastins
Pavol Demitra
Josef Vasicek,

Huge hockey fan, this really sucks

Ya I've been following it all day being a big hockey fan (it's law in Canada). Very sad and tragic.

This caps off what has been the worst summer for pro hockey I've ever witnessed. Two suicides and a third that was essentially a suicide. Dark days for the game right now

I was a big fan when demitra was on the nucks. Sad day for Hockey and it's fans..

It's sad. They were young guys. The goalkeeper was from a town not far from where I live in Sweden :(

It's ironic his name was Stefan Liv, ("Liv" means "life" or "alive" in English)

Brad McCrimmon & Igor Korolev were both members of the Phoenix Coyotes for their inaugural season (96-97) and Dimitra was an excellent player. Sucks.
