Stolen Gear

Postby surfnorthwest » 20 Sep 2011, 20:01

My friend Curt Granger had an entire utility trailer stolen that was full of his bands gear. If you are around the Birmingham Alabama area keep an eye out for it showing up for sale.

From Curt...

My utility trailer was stolen last night/this morning. All my band gear inside. White 2003 Pace 6x10 single axial (2 wheels). Has a small black Granger sticker on back above doors. That really sucks, especially the unique amp. I hope he had insurance. Fortunately, most of the gear is replaceable.

I cringe .. every musicians nightmare.
Insurence may cover the moneypart but most of the time some of the stuff is irreplacable often for sentimental reasons.

Here's a statement that's sure to get me flamed - I can't get sentimental over gear. Unless you have a truly unique piece of equipment (like Curt's amp or a 58 Les Paul) I say take the insurance money, be happy and upgrade!

That said, I hope these assholes get caught.

I agree and I am insured up the Wazoo.... Sadly so many are victims of these thieves and even sadder many are our own peers who steal from us. I have been lucky, so very lucky so far and have had many close calls, yet shudder to think what I would do to the asswipes who stole from me. I will keep a look out in my area, S Mississippi and hopefully the use of the internet will get those items returned.

Was it a gig, or just a loaded trailer on personal property when the items were stolen Surf? Totally sucks, hopefully they will get the goods returned.
