Almost stupid question

Postby guitarest » 22 Oct 2011, 00:35

OK I'm stumped, I love loads of STP tunes and Crackerman is a real cool tune. I have heard many versions of this song live and this one has the best live sound and the lead is fricking great. So here is the question at 1:58 the lead starts and its got a huge sound. I don't know if it has a delay with a quick response and a long feedback with zero repeats or is it a really deep reverb or both? I know there is a wah in it but the delay/verb makes this lead sound so huge. Any ideas?

Sounds like two effects. First of course is some delay, the second (which makes it sound huge) is the "cocked wah". Either he had a wah pedal in the toe up position or some autowah box set to the bass.

Yeah I love the tone of a cocked wah, that tune I posted a few weeks ago had two wah's one cocked and the other was actually being used. In that tone I do hear the delay and the wah; just think there is a huge canyon of verb included. That solo is so huge.....
