Sorry bro.
It's good that you can be with her to comfort and soothe her until the end.
A few months ago I held my 17 year old cat until his last breath.
Something departed him a few minutes before his final breath, it was visible and physical.
I don't believe in the flying spaghetti monster, but there is a force that departs every creature moments before the end.
Give thanks for a faithful companion & loyal friend :)

Man.... why is loosing a pet so damm hard. My wife has two cats, they are pretty cool but they absolutely hate me. My German Shepherd on the other hand is the definition of loyalty.

Man, I feel for ya.

Earlier this year I held my 16 year old cat as the vet put the needle in, couldn't see him suffer any more from a lung tumor. A sad day indeed.

Smartest, most loyal little dude I ever had.

Hang in there....sounds like you given him a great life regardless.

I am sorry to hear that, and remember there is always hope when we truly believe. I also have a 9yr cat who last year was diagnosed with renal kidney failure. But with research and hope and prayer, he is still with me. It is hard, because we get sooo attached to these "furry friends". Animals are a great blessing we have, they are the best companions and no matter how bad my day goes or what happens, when I come home he is always there to greet me!

Wow.......I'm sorry. My cat and I are real close and she's on borrowed time. Just thinking about the reality of losing her is more painful than I can find words for. I've lost close pets before and it never gets easier. I spent a fortune on vet bills and I'll keep doing it to keep them around as long as I can. These days, it's really hard to find a vet that will work with you. It really sucks.

Again, there's no short cut to taking the pain away, just time will heal. Take care.

Sorry bro.
Sometimes out of the corner of my eye I swear I can see one or the other of my two previous cats sitting in the corner of the room, watching me.

Altanon, a good pet owner will make the pet part of the family, you did that and that is why it's so hard when it's their time to go. That feeling of loss runs just as deep. There's nothing cooler about a pets personality when they've been well taken care of. I guess a well taken care of person is the same way. Your cat was lucky to have you. I hope you're doing ok.

Sorry man. I have lost pets a few times and while you always think you can't replace them I find the best medicine is to get another kitten or pup when your ready.

I'm the same way. It tears me up everytime. It doesn't matter what kind of pet it is, I can't function when I lose one. I should stick with pets that will out live me, but then I'd have to find somebody to leave them to that I know will take care of them. It isn't easy.
