Crossfit

Postby kissfanps » 12 Dec 2011, 16:22

Anyone here go to crossfit or do the WOD's on your own? I was thinking about starting that type of hybrid workout, but just can't wrap my head around the programming methodology. Can anyone shine some light on it?

A friend of a friend runs a Crossfit gym close to me. I've never done it but a few friends have and have said it's a very intense regimen but if you can stick with it, it does wonders. Basically, it's a cult of people committed to doing the most intense physical workouts they can as a means to see how far you can push yourself. It works if you can get your mind into that kind of thinking and use it as motivation to keep improving.

I'm going to give it a try at some point but I've worked my own five day routine for years (three days cardio, two days weights) that's worked well for me so I'm not really interested in changing because I'm too lazy leave my house and go to a gym.

Until someone shows me where a workout like that burns more fat then banging for 30 minutes I am sticking to banging. Besides if I am going to drop dead of a heart attack then I would rather have a smile.

Oh how I wish I could get by on just riding the wife. Unfortunately running beats sex (over thirty minutes) in the calories burned department 376 to 158.

It's actually amazing that sex does burn quite a bit compared to sitting (40 calories) and sleeping (35 calories).

You ain't doing the humpty right, I am sure I am burning more then running. When you get in your 50s it takes more then the couple of pumps it takes you young bucks, us older guys have to work harder at it.
