Price of JCM1-H

Postby djw171 » 13 Jan 2014, 11:11

I am thinking of selling my JCM1-H as I just dont use it (I've hardly used it) and thinking it could finance something else. I use the DSL1H a lot more (and like it). I looked on ebay to see what the going rate is and it appears around +$900! that seems steep to me. There are probably a few new ones still knocking around too I imagine.

Anyone guess a fair price for a 2nd hand, but like brand new one?

$650 should sell it. I think you would do much better with it as a trade for other gear. I know a guy who traded his for a nice American Standard Strat.

Thanks Surf. I may try and list it locally see if there's any takers. If not hang on and see what new goodies Marshall release this year for possible trade.

The prices seem to be on the slide upward to a small degree. I have the first three combos. But I have strongly considered selling the JCM-1C. At one point, I was seeing some sell for as low as $425 (used). But now the used ones seem to be steadily over $600. Some folks are getting a premium on the new ones too.

I am not sure if I am going to get my money back in full (not expecting). But it seems the price bell curve is nearing the peak. I can't imagine these going much over their original MAP on the used market. Not at least until they are 30+ years old (or some other phenomena occurs).
