1 watt jcm800 with "jubilee" switch??

Postby Herbvis » 11 Mar 2012, 11:54

just came across this. Not sure of the source. Any truth to this?

In 1981, Marshall released another amplifier that would once again go down in the history books as a classic. The JCM800 is still looked upon as one of the best amps in the world even today, and it’s this amp that inspired the next model in the 50th Anniversary One Watt Range; the JCM1. Delivering everything you’d expect and more, this is quintessential 1980’s tone. A boost switch also introduces a slightly different voicing that is based on another iconic amp from that decade; the Silver Jubilee.

Marshall JCM1 guitar amplifier head joins an all new line-up of 1-Watt all valve amplification released in celebration of Marshall's 50th year of production. Marshall JCM1 amp heads are the third in this series to be launched and deliver an amplifier that captures that grinding 80's rock tone perfectly, having a touch more gain than the JMP model. JCM1-H amps also come fitted with a Silver Jubilee mode switch on the rear panel.

This is from soundslive here in the uk.

Yep, and once you play one its like crack. I am getting the JMP1 and JCM1 for sure to go along with the JTM1. Not sure if I will buy the DSL1 and JVM1 but probably will as an investment anyways.

DSL and JVM not really interesting except for the novelty value ...

This amp excites me. I had hoped for a 20 watt version for the 50'th, but I can see me buying a 1 watter. The Jube addition make it a little more interesting. Anyone know when they will be available in the US?
