The JMP1H arrived today!

Postby wntbtw » 10 Apr 2012, 19:51

The JMP1H amp head arrived earlier today and I have been having 'a blast' with it! Such a great amp and it does replicate a JMP metal panel NMV amp and the Marshall tone of the 70`s!! Definitely cool and I am loving it! I am surprised how loud it is--and the louder it gets the better it sounds! SteveD and Marshall Amps definitely 'nailed it' with this amp!
Changing power tubes really doesn’t change the tone of the amp as much as people think-John Suhr
And anyway, the real tonal differences in amps come from the circuit design, not the tubes-John Phillips

I'm in the US. Ordered mine through Musician's Friend while they were briefly available.

Well I just finished having another great time with my new JMP1H amp--my 2nd session with it and i am really loving this great little and LOUD and so sweet Marshall 1 watt JMP amp! Last night I ran it thru my Marshall '1936' type 2x12 cab w/ the WGS version of the G12H30 speakers and that was fun. Tonight i ran it thru my 1x12 cab with the WGS version of the 'Classic Lead 80' speaker and it sounded SO NICE! Both speaker types sounded nice--I think i prefer the 1x12 'CL80' speaker but I will continue to compare the 2 speaker types. It was kinda cool to make the 1x12 work alittle as i had it cranked up all the way! Last night the 2x12 cab was not even 'breaking a sweat' as i was giving it all the amp had--it was like saying to me 'Is that all you got?!?' LOL! But pushing the 1x12 tonight was alot of fun!

I also experimented with the 'High gain' switch and really don`t care for it that much as I don`t like too much gain. i think a good OD pedal will work if more gain is needed. I will try my SD-1 pedal soon and see how it does.

I absolutely LOVE the 'Lower Power Mode' feature as the overall tone of the amp is not lost when it is engaged so it still sounds great and is definitely 'neighbor friendly' and still retains the overall tone of the amp!

So as you can tell I am really LOVING this new 1 watt Marshall JMP amp! It is pretty much everything I had hoped it would be and it has given me a few nice surprises as well! Simply put it is an AWESOME Marshall amp and well worth the money!! I can`t wait to crank it up again--it sounds it`s best fully cranked and doesn`t have as much distortion as can be heard on the various Internet video clips which I am thankful for. It is such an awesome little Marshall amp that is HUGE in delivering the sweet JMP tone of the 70`s! A big 'Thank You' you to SteveD and Marshall Amps for truly delivering such a great NMV JMP Marshall amp that definitely delivers the goods and has given me the classic JMP tone that I have longed for since the 70`s!

Rock on fellow Marshall friends!

Here`s a picture of my JMP1H amp and the 1x12 cab I`m running it thru. I don`t know how to post the pic directly to this site--ugh--so if anyone can help me with how to--that would be cool!
