Can anybody help me out with the amp's line out.
I have the jvm1 head version and when I connect a PL cable to the line out (into my DI - Line 6 UX1 sound card) the cab is still playing.
Is it planned this way?
Is it alright to disconnect the cab while using the line out?
The manual says a speaker must always be connected whenever the amp is on.
Your help is appreciated.

If I remember well JVM1 uses L-attenuator which means you can operate it without speaker both in 1W and 0.1W mode.
In other words you can disconnect your speaker (if you want) during DI-recording.
Anyway switch to 0.1W mode for DI-recording.

That's right. The jvm1 and dsl1 detect if a cable is in the speaker out, and if not they apply a pad to make it safe.

What about the speaker?
- is it normal that the speaker is playing while the line out is connected to the DI?

Yeah it's normal. It lets you record both at once.
