Want to use an external cab with my JCM1C.... how?

Postby blaidan » 14 Aug 2015, 14:27

Hi all -

I've got a JCM1C that I'd like to hook up to my Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier 1x12 Cab (Slant). I think I can do this without messing up the amp, right? Connecting the cab should shutdown the 10" speaker in the JCM1C, correct?

Anyone have any info on exactly how to connect the two? The specs on the cab are 60W/8 Ohm. Thanks in advance!

You are safe to do this.

Using speaker cable, connect the 8 ohm speaker out on the back of the combo to the speaker input on the cab. Connecting an external cab shuts off the combo's speaker. If you get a 16 ohm cab later use the 16 ohm speaker out on the back of the combo. Never use both speaker outs at the same time.
