If you could hear mine in person there is nothing thin about it. If a 6100 sounds thin it's because the operator wants it that way.

Does it sound anything like the SL-X? I mean they came in the same period when Marshall stopped using diodes and started using just valve distortion.

Man, it's been soooo long since I used an SLX I cant say with all certainty but I think it would be very close. A 6100 is very versatile. Remember also I am only talking from the point of using only the head for gain, if you were to use a few boosters or boxes in front you just opened up a whole new world of tone........

Yeah i like the SL-X. It's got quite an open tone. Still it can sound a bit dull at times.
