What is a good price to pay for a 6100LM?

Postby GuitarBuilder » 13 Apr 2015, 07:35

I'm looking to join the 30th anniversary club!

What is a good price range for the 6100LM in USD in North America? Anything to watch out for?

This of course is my opinion but any unserviced LM in decent to excellent condition, between $600 and $700. The reason i say this is because these bastards take 2 bills to retube and they are also getting old in the years department. Recapping can be the subject of much debate but after so many years with the many odd variety of caps especially filter caps that were used in these ( all that i have ever seen were of the 1000 hour load life type) this needs to be strongly considered.

I would also be cautious for mods. Allot of these were modded, and not nessearily for the better.
As long as you can rule mods out and anticipate that the amp will more than likely need tubes and possibly service, what you will get in return will more than pay for itself with guitar playing magic.

I think the $800 area is about right. Thats what I sold my LM for years ago when the economy was bad.

Anything under $750 is good, had a couple around here go for under $700 last year.
Though I paid $800 for my last combo
Oh and don't forget to include the footswitch in the deal.
Though if it's not a non marshall midi pedal will work.
Annnnd everything Anitoli said . . . .
