useful tip about the half power switch : this switch only disconnects the cathode from V8 and V11 so
- you can remove them if you want (filament stays connected so it might wear the tubes almost as much as if you were using them)
- even if it's not that big of a deal, there's now a mismatch on the output transformer. It is safe for the transformer as it's specd for 100W output and you're now only passing 50W, but if you want to keep a good z-match, you'd want to connect a step-higher impedance speaker. That means a 16Ohm speaker will fit the 8Ohm output of the amp, an 8 Ohm speaker will fit the 4Ohm tap...
If you're removing the two power tubes, I suggest to put something preventing dust to enter those empty sockets, it's good for security too as the plate voltage is still above 400v DC so you don't want to put a sweaty finger near it...
