So I ordered one...

Postby CBoothe » 18 Feb 2013, 16:41

I ordered one of these last night from Sweetwater. I had already put a plug in with "my guy", but decided to go ahead and pre-order. Sweetwater is offering a 18 month interest free Financing on their card.

Anyway, I got a message today saying they expected the amp anywhere between April and June. I knew it would be some time, but was a bit surprised by June. I am not in a big hurry though.

I just wanted to pass on the expected shipping for those curious. And I'm also curious about what others have heard from other dealers.

That sounds like a very typical pre-order wait time. Most of the Marshall stuff I pre-ordered had a similar wait.

I think you will be much closer to April then June because many of these have already been built before the launch.

Hi, I thought I would share that I also ordered one!
I had a voucher to use from some previous purchase and was hesitating between the Jmp1 and the sl5... I would have used the jmp1 only at full gain as I think it gets close to afd tones there... But it sounds to me as the sl5 will be better to get closer to afd tone and still seems pretty versatile... From what we heard it seems the sl5 can get close to classic Marshall crunch and to #34 territories on top of being great to get close to afd tones... And I am not buying it as an investment... I still want a jmp1 for historic reasons though...
Argh! Tough choices!
Anyway.... I hope I will be happy with this choice!
No confirmed availability of course... Will keep you posted!
