Totally digging this amp. First one in many a year where the amp's dirt is a good fit.

I do like delay though & am considering the Metro Zero-Loss Loop kit.

Anyone here go this route ? Are the amp & kit compatible ? Are there specific install instructions for this amp ? Any other insight you'd care to share ?

First welcome to the Roadhouse and congrats on your Marshall SL5. Glad you like the amp I think it is a great option for a combo too.

Guitarist Magazine just gave the amp some love by awarding it "gear of the year" for 2013

Installing a loop to the amp should be no big deal, just be sure you use a good amp tech. Not sure if a parallel or a serial loop would work best.

Thats the only thing I am missing on this amp .. an effect loop.
Not gigging with it so I doubt I'll drill any holes in it ..

surfnorthwest - thanks for the warm welcome & info. Much appreciated.

gtrman - I hear you on drilling holes. Part of me does not want to do that & is why I'm also considering a Bad Cat Unleash. The BCU will also provide the extra volume live should it be needed. Speaking of volume - will this amp hang live ?

Alpeggio - Thanks for the welcome as well as the link.

Good day, all !

Welcome E, and congratulations on the new amp. I'm into buying heads and cabs right now (im trying to increase my Marshall wall), but every once in a while, I wish I had one.
Many Marshall's, and I want more.

Good day, all !

I havent tried it live yet ... maybe I will one day on a small club.
Playing next to a loud drummer you might have some problems but tilting the amp probably will do the trick.
