Two very different amps and ranges. I think from a value standpoint it is a fair trade assume the 2553 is in great shape. Really you are the only only who has to decide if the trade is worth it or not.

Ask yourself what it is you hope to gain with the 2553 that the VM is not giving you.

The Jubilees will never be made again. What's left out there, are all they're going to be.

The Vintage Moderns are still in production. They're actually produced in a time when Marshall is putting out a huge (relatively speaking) variety of amplifiers.

The value may never go up. In the near future, it will most likely be cheaper for you to replace the VM.

Of course, if you've never wanted a Jube, stop thinking about it. But if you did, here's your opportunity to get one.

If someone offered me a 100W Silver Silver Jubilee for my Purple VM, it's a done deal. I love the VM, but I can buy one now for less than I have in the one I own.

In my neck of the woods you'd be getting the better end of that trade. I would look at it this way: If you've always wanted a Jubilee this is how to get one, you can always get another VM on the used market.
Amps - Marshall VM 2266, 425a, Soldano SLO-100, Galt Musical Instrument The Mason 5 (1955), Fender Super-Sonic 22 Combo, Orange Brent Hinds Terror, Garnet Herzog, Custom 1x12 w/Celestion Vintage 30
Guitars - 2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard, 2014 Fender American Standard Telecaster, 2014 Fender American Standard Stratocaster, 2013 Gibson SG Standard, 2014 Epiphone Casino, 1997 Ibanez RG470

As a financial thing only - any Jubilee is likely to have a higher financial value than a VM. They're rare(-ish) and there is a Cult of Personality thing going on with them because of their use by name players. It's taken 20+ years for them to be this regarded. For many years they were out of favour and not thought of as anything special.

As a sound thing only - I like the VM more. I've played several Jubilee's and own one so I can compare them back-to-back every day. The VM gets a lot more time from me, is more versatile and has a better lead tone IMHO.

They both sound good.
