Recommend Speakers

Postby ufguy73 » 08 Feb 2015, 18:25

has anyone tried a Jubilee extensively with M-type speakers (like regular greenback reissues)? or, even better, a g12m/v30 mix?

does it hold together well enough and stay percusive enough with that amp?

I know the typical choice might be v30's, here, but was hoping to potentially get some additional versatility out of the next cab

thanks!

Many including Marshall believe the Vintage 30s to be a well matched speaker for the Jubilee. Speakers are a big part of your sound, and it is totally subjective to the player. Greenbacks I like better then Vin 30s for what I play but my TSL for instance sounds best with Vin30s.

The mismatch speakers is something a lot of guys do, I have experimented a lot with that. The best match IMO in a 4x12 are two Vintage 30s paired with 2 Anniversary G12H-30s. If your thinking of buying a new 2555x just stick with the matched cabinet. If you want more thump, more mids, better breakup then you can pull two and try to compensate what you lack with pairing other types.
