Mini Jubelee or 1987x ri

Postby Peveo » 06 Dec 2016, 12:18

Got me some gas ...ahumm for a mini jubilee head but wander if y can get those old plexiglass like tones with this amp.
I'm thinking of selling my 1987xRi head and swap that for a mini jubilee head that will be fitted on a 2x12 cab with V30.
Y do like the old school rock sound but sometimes like to gain a bit more and want the best of both worlds in a sense..
Will the mini jubilee deliver or should y stay with my 1987x Ri.?

thanks for advise

And i'm still collecting... :cowbell

As a less than a week owner of a Mini Jubilee head with no experience with a 1987X I am impressed with mine. Rhythm clip channel gives a great classic rock sound with my Les Paul. Has a bite to it that reminds me of the older Marshalls.

I think they are two very different amps. No way would I buy the Mini Jube over the 1987x without trying it first, like I said two very different amps.

If you are into "plexi" tones but want lower wattage I would wait until January 19th and see what Marshall introduces at NAMM.

Surf, you said it....plexi tones and lower wattage...
Had a ball today with my 1987x because y was alone at home today and took the amp for a walk in tone heaven .....njamm....tweaked it with my Wampler velvet fuzz, dejavibe a biot of the dynacomp a strat and baboommmmm.
So, y did have some doubts now about selling the amp, although y also own a JTM45 ri but ....y think for now y keep the 1987x
Indeed, a good idea to wait and see what marshall has in store for the winter Namm ...plexis with lower wattage.....would be very nice..
To be honest y really would like some more vintage sounding 5 watt amps to choose from.
