Ok, i FINALLY was able to free up some time and get back to this bass project. The cabinet had these "Power Jam" cones in it made by Ibanez and they were scratchy like the voice coils were shot so i set about replacing them. I didn't go the expensive route. I bought these speakers that i used on my home stereo rig when i blew out the 12" woofers and they seemed to handle the bass of and 85 watt per channel amp very well. http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/55-2952
The Fender being SS i didn't really care if they were 8 ohms and not 16, the cab just ends up being 8 ohm total. Surprisingly, they sound pretty good. They handle everything the BXR 200 can shell out and the freq response is usable. They could have a little more on the upper mids to high freqs but a little eq adjust took care of that.
All in all for less than $100 i have a usable bass cab that sounds pretty damn good with the Ric.
