Track one - Recovery .......my new album

Postby Alpeggio » 30 Jul 2017, 05:17

Hi guys, I've just completed track one of my new Melodic Classical Shred album.

This style is the real me. It will capture how I feel right now.
So this is the title track, "Recovery" and though not perfect, it is the best I can do.

Hope you like it, and visit often as the album tracks are added.

The Laney 15w studio amp was used into the blubox 1980 Marshall cab IR.
Guitar is the YJM Strat.
Rhythm guitars are through the clean channel with pre boost on, while lead was channel 3.

Al if that is how you play when you are still recovering, I wish I could play that well sick or healthy. Great playing!

Thanks Dana's blues, haha, I actually find this easier to play than blues rock.
I'd have to think more for that, and that's why I haven't done it yet.

Anitoli glad you like it. I'm hoping for a breakthrough in melody. For me, this really talks in places. I hope it moves people.

Thanks T that's so cool you like the textures and the mood.
My playing seems to have largely recovered though there's a couple of dropped notes in this. I left them in because they were good takes.

I spent most time getting the tones dialed in. I tried the rhythm guitars brighter, but they clashed with the lead.

The YJM strat really gave me everything I wanted, from bright cutting top end, to deep bass.
Also the Laney did well for such a cheap amp. £400 I paid for that.
I intend to use other amps for the other tracks, should be interesting.

That sounds wonderful. Maybe I´m wrong, but I hear more "feeling" in your songs than I did before.

Thanks Sigi, yeah that's the way I want to go with this album. But still with a few fireworks to keep it interesting haha.
I hope the next tracks will be even better in the way they talk to you and move you.
Those big string bends get me every time.
And thanks for the........ nice.

Thanks Billy glad you like it.
I like to bring in the acoustic for a different feel.
But didn't have the confidence and strength to shred on it haha.
