Atomic Ampli-Firebox

Postby gtrman » 11 May 2017, 04:04

I have gone all digital now in all 3 bands I'm playing with. I am so comfortable with my Fractal AX-8 that i have sold my beloved Friedman BE-100 amp.
A huge step as I am now basically without ANY amps for the first time since I probably started playing guitar !

So far the AX-8 has never failed me on a gig but having a backup solution is always the preferred way to go.
I have an old Line6 pocket pod but that unit is not very live friendly. I need something small that sounds good and will allow me to have a few options.

I have gone through a lot of youtube and google and have ended up with this pedal - the Atomic Ampli-Firebox pedal.
Atomic have a few great modelers and have now created one that will fit my needs as a fully functional backup solution.

It is very compact and small - It has 9 amps that you can select and change manually on a switch on the pedal and lastly which was a must for me - a boost for solos that you can activate by foot.
It will be released in May - no soundclips as of yet but it will sound just like the Amplifire and those sound great.
It has a XLR output that will go to the FOH and a 1/4 output jack that can go to a monitor or InEar system.

At around 7:20 you can see the pedal:

I love my 2061x but until son of Papus is old enough to be awake past 7:30pm there's no way I can practise or record at night.
I need a good amp/cab sim

I live in a apartement now and often play late .. so a great sounding solution on low volume is a must.
The AX8 works great everywhere and everytime. The Firebox is a great low cost option.

and son of Papus needs his sleep :cowbell

I like it. For the price it offers some nice performance and recording options.
