Just seems to be something missing with the Fender in that clip, your playing is good but the tone does nothing for me. I am finding the same thing out with my amp and my Fender. I love what the Les Paul can do with the amp but when I take my Telecaster to it needs more punch, I have Budz pickups.

I am looking into different pedals to boost the Tele into the amp, I am sure it will be fine then.

Try the Xotic RC Booster. The Catalinbread VarioBoost is another good one.

Another fine vid Gtrman. You actually inspired me to pick up my Strat today. Haven't played it since bringing my LP home.
FWIW, I don't like Strats for overdriven tones. I dialed in some beautiful clean tones on the VM and really enjoyed myself. It's been a while. Thanks.

Totally agree. I put my RC Booster on whenever I'm playing clean through any amp at any volume. It makes everything sound fuller, bigger, better.

I agree it's hard to get a great tone using Fenders ... but i'm not giving up. I'll keep on it ....
Something I haven't done a lot of yet is try different pedals with it. I'll definitely do that when I am using a Stratocaster.

So let me get this straight, you guys aren't getting good tones with a Single Coil? :high I only play Strats and Teles through mine so I really am wondering what I am missing out on, lol.

I'm using coilsplit 25% of the time, and I love the sound.
My guitar has a removed tonecontrol so I use the pickupselector and coilsplit as tonecontrol.

Never liked the hollow sound in my guitars tonecontrol

My Strat was the primary guitar I used to develope the Vintage Modern and I never had a problem.

It all depends on what your idea of a good tone is.
Still my guitar gently weeps

I thought my strat sometimes sounded better than my Epi with gibson pickups.

My Strat sounds best out of all 8 guitars I own. The tone I use with it is a reasonably clean "Frusciante/Hendrix" type thing, and I love it. In HDR with a lot of distortion my Ibanez PGM sounds best, but I MUCH prefer the cleaner setting.
