You might remember a while back I was trying to find a Whitesnake sound from my 2266. Here's the results...

Nothing wrong with that tone, and if you were after Whitesnake I think you got REAL close. I would like to hear that with perhaps a bit more overdrive pushing it and with a thin layer of chorus. Either way it sounds great.

Hey Bailz, that was great! We also play that song in our band and I like it. You're playing is great and your tone is equally great. Very tasty vibrato and phrasing :) And the recording was great too. How did you record it? What mics and what cab did you use? The guitar sound was fat, thick and creamy.

Did you use a chorus or was the guitar only de-tuned between the dubs?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It was my Les Paul (Alnico 2 in the bridge, Bare Knuckle Black Dog in the neck) tuned to Eb. The cabinet is the VM 425A through a Shure SM57 to my soundcard. Both the rythm and lead parts were the Les Paul but I added a bit more presence for the rythm section. For the solo I used a Tubescreamer to add a bit of gain and sustain and that was it as far as effects go.

For mixing I used Adobe Audition 3.0 for a bit of hiss and noise removal. Not sure if there's anything else to mention.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the info Bailz. SM57 is almost a foolproof microphone for guitar cabs :)

A very worthwhile investment. I have 4. They also work very well for miking snare & toms. Maybe not THE best, but a true workhorse & all around great mic.
