I love Paul Gilbert, and the musicanship in this band is awesome!

..... but ............

.... frankly the lyrics are at about the level of a 13 year old. With everything else they've got going for them, you'd think they'd be able to find someone who could write some 1/2 way decent lyrics. :dunno :dunno

I'm no genius, but I Love the music :rocker , but the lyrics make it embarassing to listen to :Embaresed .

JUST MY OPINION.

Am I the only one who thinks his tone here is pretty bad?
Sounds (to me) like he's got the MV too low. Pretty "buzzy". Must not be using his Hot Plate anymore.

i was thinkin maybe its to suit the style of music. ya know for more of a late eighties metal sound? but yeah the tone on the leads aint great compared to his usual tone.
Everybody seems to think i'm lazy.
I dont mind...I think they're crazy!

I agree! I assumed the same as you, that he hadn't used the Hotplate. I way prefer his tone on his last solo album which features awesome Vintage Modern tones.

Paul is very protective of his already damaged hearing and normally wears headphone monitors live. I think for the sake of the video they may have asked him not to wear them so he kept the volume right down instead. It could also have been the recording as well, I don't think they captured Eric's voice properly either.

He has requested three full 2466/425 for their upcoming tour. It's my guess he'll be wearing some kind of in ear monitoring or at least protection during the shows.

I asked him if there was any possibility of shows outside Japan and he told me their management was looking into it. :Thumbs
Still my guitar gently weeps
