How do you like that 425A cab?
Do you think my 1960BV cab is gonna be better than the 425A?
I'm looking to achieve a heavy punk rock tone.
thanks
Does it have V30s in it?C0ldFart wrote:very good question, the other guitarplayer in our band is buying a used 1960 cab this weekend, and I will try that one as well on my 2466

Yeah the rig I wanna buy is all purple, it looks cool but I won't cry if I don't have a matching purple cab.slowpokerhino wrote:fourdogslong wrote:I might buy a VM with a 425A cab but I allready have a 1960BV cab.

IMO the 425 is much better suited for classic rock styles. You will miss the tightness of the low end. The cab you already have should be perfect. Vintage 30s are much better for your style than Greenbacks.
If you want the cab to match the head (assuming you're getting a purple one) you could always buy the 425 & sell the speakers. The G12c speakers are hard to come by and you'd probably get enough for them to get your V30s. I recommend Hellatone 60s since they are V30s that are already broken in.
