CODE 25 as Reaper Audio Interface

Postby austinplayer » 23 Oct 2016, 15:13

I've just gotten a CODE 25. I'm still playing, i.e., fooling around, with it. I want to use it as a DAW interface with Reaper, but Reaper doesn't see it (Reaper does see my Audiobox). I set it as a recording source in Windows but have gotten no farther. Is it AISO or something else? I have only the most basic tech knowledge. Marshall's manual has no detail. Can anyone spell out for me how to get the CODE's sounds into the Reaper? Thank you for any comments.

You would have to use the headphone jack into you audio interface. For reaper to see your audio interface you will need to make sure you have the latests drivers for that interface loaded into your computer.

This is not a issue with the amp, but rather your audio interface.

According to the CODE manual, you should be able to use the CODE as an interface via USB. However, wouldn't Marshall need to release some sort of driver so computers and software can recognize it as such? :think

i wouldn't consider the Code as a true or full DAW. it may be swelected through various DAWs as in INPUT but DAW by definition is a digital audio workstation (recording software) like Reaper/PT/Cubase...etc.
short version- Code is an instrument/amp-you just need to select what it is IN YOUR DAW. from what I have read & heard so far it has soft/firmware glitches & you just need to go phones out of it into your audio interface.
keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.

Thanks for the responses and helpful information. This has always been the best forum. Great founder, great members. One of the audio systems preferences Reaper offers, besides ASIO, is WaveOut. I have no idea what that is, but it recognized CODE and I was able to record to Reaper through CODE's USB connection. I had bought an AudioBox for an interface, to mike my real Marshall amps, but got the CODE to play with and wanted to see if it would work with a DAW as Marshall indicates. Just getting its sound into the computer for playback is progress for me. Thanks again.
