Replacement Indicator LED

Postby brokenromeo » 21 Jan 2019, 13:26

I ordered the replacement Marshall LED Bulb-00007 for my new to me 2007 2466, my current light is very dim and flickering...I've read that this is a common issue, but I am a bit confused as to whether the replacement bulb still needs the 330 ohm resister added, or if the new bulb has been updated to fix the issue??

I noticed that replacment that I bought had the resistor!
But it died faster than the first one. Then I installed ordinary LED and rectifier between LED and it’s power supply. Never had problem since. It was probably 5 years ago, maybe even more.
There are pictures of it somewhere on this board.

HI Guys, I bought a 2266 and it sounds great but the pilot light just went out. Is there anything wrong with it or just the light has an issue.

Pilot LED light is suplied with AC. I think it stresses diode and it shortens it’s life time. I converted supply to DC and never needed to replace it again,
LED is very cheap but you need to take your amp apoart to replace it. A locking washer holds it in place from inside.
I removed the washer too so I could just pull it out if it needs replacement.

This circuit works. You may need to adjust the cap and or the resistor to accommodate the lower voltage. You need the rectifier to prevent the LED from getting slammed when the voltage swings the other way.

If you have the current Bulb-00007 which contains the reverse diode, then changing R72 from 68R to 220R will significantly reduce the current stress on the LED. However the brightness will be proportionately reduced but should still be OK. Maybe even better for some.
Still my guitar gently weeps

just pull the light out from the front? I guess there's just a washer holding it on I take it?
