I think it's either an amp issue, or that the G12T-75s sounds radically different compared to the sound that I'm after.. I think I might try the amp with a greenback/v30 loaded cab, if it sounds the same, at least I'll know that there's something wrong I think you found the solution to your problem...
I use a strat on AFD mode at around 7 on the presence. The presence doesn't make much change to the sound, it is very subtle. Of course there is a difference between 0 and 10 but very subtle changes as you go up or down. Try some differnet settings, maybe you can hear a change with less gain perhap...
I've had some strange issues with my AFD100. I play a Gibson Les Paul Historic G0 (Guitar Center model) loaded with Sheptone tribute pups through the AFD100 and a bone stock 1960A cab with G12T-75 speakers, and the sound is great! If you have the presence on 8-10 that is. Everybody keeps talking abo...
Wow after reading this thread I'm scared to admit I use a cab full of GT12-75's. I find they sound very good. Although a friend swears by the Greenbacks. Yet to try it yet. Haha its ok man, I actually do LIKE the G12T75s myself as well, but it depends on what I'm using them for, cleaner stuff cheif...
I don't think anyones sayin they sound the same. They do sound different, nothing I've heard can emulate the AFD, and thats the way I'd like it to stay tbh. But saying that, as an AFD owner, the only (un-modded)amp I've heard that I thought came close is a VM, thats my humble opinion anyway. Peace ...
Yes, tone is subjective, but pardon me for being a but rude here, but this is the kind of rubbish I can read from people on another Marshall forum that just take the opinion of others instead of getting their own mind set straight. There... rudeness over. I'm sorry. I was objective about the pro's ...
Thanks a lot guys! I hadn't thought about that! I guess the safest bet is to take it to an amp repairman guy of some sorts. (I'm getting an AFD, so away goes the 9200&JMP1)
Hello, this might sound really stupid, but I have a 9200 poweramp (the one with 5881 tubes/valves) , and recently, when I turn the volume & presence controls, I hear a crackle kind of sound, so I figured that them tubes need a'changin! (happens on both sides, coincidence huh?) A crackle when I turn ...
i like the AFD100 way more, it sounds juicier and more like an hot rodded marshall should IMO YJM didn't play hot-rodded marshall's. He played standard 1959 plexis with a DOD250 pushing the preamp section, which is why I think it's totally cool that this amp sounds a bit more "vintage" compared to ...
As close to the strings without touching them? That can't be right at all. Slash's pickups are rarely higher than the mounting ring itself.... The pickups aren't that high in these pictures. That may be the case now days where he's going for a cleaner tone in the early tour last year, but back duri...
Thanks for that :Thumbs I used the basic settings that you listed. I plugged into Input One, bridge pickup on full. The tone is spot on. But it is still lacking gain and saturation. The closest sound that I can compare it to is Rocket Queen, original AFD version. That last chunky rhythm part is clo...
To my knowledge, Izzy used a brand new Mesa Mk III for the AFD recordings. For guitars, i guess he used his Es175 and LP custom or something like that. Maybe a Tele too..
Not something I'd brag about either. And you end up with her herpes since she obviously whores around. The gift that keeps on giving. :yea Well yeah, I agree with you, but to my defence, I didn't know that information 'til the morning after (it's not like I look for a wedding ring when I talk to wo...
