Re: Vintage Modern Mods Question For SteveD or other modders

For a player like myself I find the VM the perfect amp for for both clean and more gain tones. I don't want Fender clean and I sure don't want to tap dance switching channels while playing. The Vintage Modern is just one of many options Marshall offers, the design is something I can appreciate but I...

Re: Dr Z Monza

That little combo puts out some great tone. I have had a Class 5 on order and still cannot get a straight answer on availibility. I decided to call off the class five and get one of these, seems to be exactly what I am looking for in a small amp. My local dealer said they will have them in just a fe...

Polar Bear Rain

No comment needed so not to get political. I will just say I found this amusing. :clap :clap This one is even better, no self respecting Polar Bear would need a stinking fishing pole, they have to be British Polar Bears....they sure sound...

Re: My dog is cool...

At least your dog waits until it hits the floor, mine will get it off my plate if I get up for a minute. But that is my fault for letting her lick my plate off anyways, love my dog.

Now this is getting ridiculous

For over two months now many online music vendors here in the US such as Sameday Music, Musicians Friend, and Sweetwater have been advertising the Class 5 for sale. However they all say something to the effect of the amp is coming soon. I ordered one about a week ago because I was emailed that the a...

Re: Volume Boost options?

I think you have to get in the habit of using your guitars volume to set your gain up. I just stay in high range and turn it down for cleaner tones and dial it up for rythem or leads. I would suggest using a eq and kick that in for lead guitar, it works very well for me because I can not only adjust...

Looks to be a nice alternitive to a Fender. They sound a bit Vox like to me, nice amp.

Re: Gold Lion KT66 bias help

I have them in one of my 2466 amps, mine were matched when I bought them and the are real close. I have mine set down to 72mv as I think they sound better not so hot.

Re: major difference between VM 50 and VM 100 ??

I do not agree that the tone of the 2266 and 2466 is that close, I have tried both although not in the same store and to me the 100 version was just more of everything compared to the 50 watt version. I know it is subjective but I bought two 2466s and not one of each.

Re: Learning to like my 2466 even more

I only have two guitars, a Gibson R9 and a Fender CS Telecaster, really the only two guitars I like. I run two 2466 heads and two 425B cabinets. I run one amp much brighter with a eq and the other with more high gain, they sound really cool together. My uncle showed me years ago how to excel with yo...
