Re: Volume boost

The Mini Mass will work fine for a 2266, they make a 50W model of that, I think it is around $125. I had one when I had a 2266. It works great. The Weber bypass foot switch is el cheapo, but I replaced it with a Boss FS and the problem was solved. Actually the switch was okay, but the switch cable ...

Re: Need advice using effects loop

hi all Great site and great amp.I need to express how brilliant this amp sounds and feels before going on.I have previously used the peavey 5150 range of amps and the effects loop in them is great because the reverbs etc sounds clear also the same in my little artist 4203 (marshall) combo..but in t...

Re: Detox eq

been reading about a few of you using the Detox EQ pedal. Curious what you use it for on VM and it what it does for you. Is it a substitute for manually using your guitar volume knob to clean up from 10 to 5 and compensating for the loss of treble at the same time? Exactly. And it works quite well....

Re: Need advice using effects loop

This does lead me to believe that most folks are overdriving the inverter tube... Isn't the fx return clipping like a limiter before the it get's into tubes You may be correct. Running in HDR with the loop bypassed, I believe the signal is pretty hot that is feeding the inverter tube at the end of ...

Re: Post your pedal board

Good stuff there Doug, the longer I have used my Detox the more uses I find for it. Can I recommend the Hardwire Valve Distortion pedal to replace one of the three ODs you have.... trust me on this one. Set it up after the OD pedals so OD can push into it or just use it alone. It is a great pedal w...

Re: Need advice using effects loop

Have you tried it set to +4dB which has less gain on the return although the send will be hotter. It might work better for you, especially if you use a delay with an input level control. (Even better if there is an output level control also, which I believe the Intelifex should have). Hi Steve, Tha...

Re: Need advice using effects loop

you'll find the delay in the loop really cleans up the delays, no more scratchy sounding repeats. As for the eq, when in front it's more like eq'ing your guitar's sound. In the loop, you're giving your amp a final eq and it's much more responsive and clean. Personal preference thing, but I like it ...

Re: Post your pedal board

Doug, could you run through how you use each of the pedals, I guess as far as what sound your after with each and what VM setting (LDR or HDR). I'm finding I'm using the LDR more and more and have been trying to figure out what pedals I might want to try out. Sure. I come in on the far right throug...

Re: Post your pedal board

Here is my "Home Depot" special. Sorry for the slight blur. I am saving up to add a mini dejavibe, as well as a preset wah pedal (like Trowers Wahfull). I also would like to get the new Polytune true bypass tuner when it becomes available. My goal is to have all true bypass effects in there.

I have the RC and the AC (yes I watched the Paul Gilbert video), and I actually like the RC better. They are both fantastic sounding pedals.

Re: Fulltone mini deja vibe question....

Hellooo :howdy I am getting a fulltone mini deja vibe, but I don't know wether to get the one with the speed pedal or not. I have never actually played one, but I do love the sound, therefore I do not know wether I will need to change the speed during a song. What do you guys think? Is good to have...

Re: In ear monitor experiences/help

I used IEM's last night again, and it was much better. I kept one in that was facing the band (mainly the drummer), and I popped the other one out to monitor the VM directly. I just had them send me (mon send) the other vocals in at about 10:00, with my own vocals at 12:00 setting. I had just a touc...

Re: In ear monitor experiences/help

This is interesting as my band is thinking about buying an in ear system. Can't you just set your amp how you like it then trust in your sound even if it sounds "bad" through the in ear monitors. I can't see you will be too loud with a 50w VM on half. Our idea is that we will be able to play louder...

Re: In ear monitor experiences/help

Im a monitor engineer for a living. I use the things all the time. Switching from wedges to IEMs throws a lot of guys off. What you did is what a lot of guys do, even if theyve been using them for a while. Unplug one ear. Youve gotta think, that bud has an extremely small diaphram speaker. These th...

In ear monitor experiences/help

I just played out last night using in-ear monitors for the first time. I loved the vocal mix, but I could not get the guitar tone/vibe through the earbuds that I get when listening to the VM directly from the 425B cab. It's hard to explain. Basically the amp and feel are great without the earbuds, b...
