Re: 100JH Hum & Background Noise

Re: 100JH Hum & Background Noise

thanks surf - i can give something like that a try - thing is, my VM plugged into the same outlet does not produce the same type of hum.

so i am wondering if it is attributable specifically to the amp head.

100JH Hum & Background Noise

Steve (and other owners of this fine amp), i get quite an audible 'hum' out of my NOS hendrix stack that i recently acquired. i noticed that even when i turn the volume knobs all the way down on the amp head, when i take the amp off of standby there is a pretty audible hum - even without an instrume...

Re: Went to buy a jcm800, came home with this.

I've found that the YJM likes to be set up and not messed with. It can be set for great tones with boost on, or boost off, or in 50 Watt mode, or 100 Watt mode, or various levels of EPA....but it's not the sort of things where you can epect to change all of those things on the fly and expect everyt...

Re: Super 100JH or JTM 45 100

so, i am quite interested in this amp and the 40th 45/100. i know they will be different but would anyone like to comment further on the tonal differences between the two? cap'n crunch has indicated there will be a bit more mids in the 100jh - any other comparisons anyone can make? i am guessing tha...

Re: YJM at 20W compared to 2061x

Well, the good news is that I'll stop spamming the forum with these comparisons once I get busy and back to work next week. dont go back to work - have really enjoyed your comparative clips through stellar amps and cabs! I dont know, for me, i really liked the YJM more. Is it EL-84's that are in th...

Re: YJM compared to JTM45/100

Listen for yourself hey, thanks for those clips - i had not seen them before. seems to me like the 100jh loses that chime that was in the 45/100....you're right i bet most of it is those alnico's. the 100jh still had that very vintagey thing going in...you can tell it is a much closer relation to t...

Re: YJM compared to JTM45/100

beautiful playing on both amps!! thanks for the comparisons...that 45/100 really has some chime to it - it is almost Vox like in comparison.

has anyone tried the Hendrix 100JH? based off the 45/100 circuit I am wondering if it has that same chime on the high end?

Re: VM....AFD....YJM....

I have all of them .. VM AFD YJM .. even the Jubilee. All great amps and ALL have their own flavours and tones. If you are debating on the AFD vs YJM you have to try them both out. They are VERY different Marshall amps and basically it all comes down to personal preference. I like them both and thi...

Re: VM....AFD....YJM....

thanks guys - the YJM IS a really great one...I would like to keep it if at all possible. Onza, where are you on the volume dial in the top left input when your Goldtop starts to break-up? I know its a different 50w circuit than a 1959 (and from a different period, i think) but would be curious to ...

VM....AFD....YJM....

so, i had originally posted a question in the AFD 100 forum some time ago about whether people thought having both the AFD 100 and the VM might be redundant. At the time, I had (and still have) the VM. Before being able to try out an AFD 100, I stumbled on a YJM 100 and grabbed it...mostly, because ...

Would Anyone Be Willing to Part With Their YJM Box?

may sound weird, but i am weird like this:) would anyone have a mint/new condition stock YJM box they could part with? I picked up my head but there was no box and given some of the technical concerns I would really like to just keep the head I have. I would, of course, pay any shipping, fees, etc. ...

Re: OH MAN.....

10 - hell, i have until 1/31 to return for refund if need be! plenty of time to play with it, A/B with my VM, play with some other cabs maybe... BUT, I don't HAVE to return/sell one - at least, not for the money...SWMBO, however, must be talked into letting me keep both if so desired. The thing is, ...
