Re: Disassembly and Retubing

Yup, biasing is not rocket science but I am one of those guys who disassemble electronic component and after putting everything together I realise some parts are left out :dunno :bgrin so I realised, those things are not for me. My friend is ace at electronics, made some custom amp stuff and he will...

Re: Marshall MA settings

I use MA with pedals and without so settings are bit different. Presence 2-3, resonance 3. Clean channel is alway without pedals, bass at 9, middle 10 and treble 10. Gain channel with pedals...crunch balance at 3 , gain 9, bass 9, middle 10 , treble 12. Gain channel without pedals...crunch balance 3...

Re: Disassembly and Retubing

I am waiting for my new preamp Tung-Sol tubes to arrive, I will post some clips then. Hope they will clear some of those high end buzz on gain channel.

Re: Well done MA!

One thing is sure for this amp, you have to get it cranked to hear what the amp is capable of.
Bedroom levels, not bad, but this amp lives and breathes on gig levels, and with 100w versions, thats deafening, but that's what we like about Marshall anyway. :yea

Re: Anyone played one yet?

Well in terms of gain, boost has it really , but I tend to like more Satchurator when it comes to modern type gain sound. Classic rock is in normal gain channel and add some SD-1 just to give it a little boost and thats it. :yea

Re: Anyone played one yet?

Ok , here it comes, my first MA video Recorded with camera mic so sound is not as it should be, but I hope you like it, sloppy playing included, lol. Here is my setup without other effects, Epiphone Prophecy SG->Boss SD-1 -> Vox Satchurator->MA. :jam [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-uQ51l4DV...

Tube swap

I see here many guys have changed their tubes on MA, apparently makes it sound better :bgrin Just how much the sound is changed, this is my first tube amp and I don't know how big is difference between stock tubes and some "better" ones. Is there a way to explain benefits in sound you guys got after...

Re: MA 412 Cabinet

Last night I hooked up my vintage Celestions G12H-100 to my MA, what a difference it made, sounds more vintage rock now, Eminence seem like more modern voiced. Steve, as I understand from manual, there is no way I can connect external cab and keep amps speakers connected? Celestions are 8 ohm , and ...

Re: Volume problem

I think this difference is due to separate control for gain on overdrive channel, with gain you basically control preamp volume which effects overall volume, set drive on 2 and you have to push volume more than you would with drive on 10. Clean has no drive control so its just one control that pushe...

Re: MA100C issues

I like how they look and sound, only problems are those I mentioned above, and if they find one without those issues I'll be glad to use it. If not, I have a backup plan, DSL 401 is slightly expencive and I'll go for that. For me, the amp that makes you play and feel great while doing it is the righ...

Re: Solo boost

Do you use more pedals in front of amp kingbee?
I use Boss SD-1 in gain channel for old school rock, and Vox Satchurator ( this thing is a killer ) on clean boosted by SD-1 for modern type distortion, just makes me play more and more. I am gonna try effect loop thing today to see how it works.

Re: MA100C issues

Maybe this problem I have is related to combos, local Marshall dealer doesn't have MA heads so I tried only 50w and 100w combos, they are checking 10 more they have in stock, I am expecting their call today to solve this issues. This is only for channel noise ofcourse, heads don't have tube rattle a...

Re: MA100C issues

Thanks for reply Steve. This malfunction is quite obvious and noticeable so I think it couldn't pass quality control in factory, or I am mistaken. Maybe I could record the sound and post it here so you can hear it, last night i was playing and it is cooking loud now, switching is loud too so I guess...
