Re: What about 'new' Eminence speaker line?

I love my pair of Private Jacks. To me they are slightly better than Greenbacks which are among my favorites. They sound every bit as good as the Scumbacks and Webers that I also have. The other Red Coats I've used have been top notch (Governor and Tonker). Have used the Swamp Thangs in the Patriot...

Re: What about 'new' Eminence speaker line?

Hoping to revive this thread: I've had a 2266 for a couple of months which I play through a custom made 2x12 (similar to a 1936) with a Governor/Wizard combo in it using a Gibson LP Standard. I find on LDR it sounds great, very clear and punchy, but on HDR it gets uncontrollably fuzzy/buzzy/icepick....

Re: Lefties!!!

I'm lying. :laugh :bgrin Whew, I almost lost it there :) -- Sat Jun 25, 2011 7:59 pm -- It amazes me how us lefties are kinda like lepers, I tried to get a Blackmore Strat left handed from Fender and nope, cant do it, but theyll make a Hendrix model for righties with a left handed neck. I know Gibs...

Being Canadian I've gotta mention Rik Emmett of Triumph as being another one of those :)

Re: Lefties!!!

Lefty, butI play right handed. I know, i've gone to the dark side, what can you do? :dunno Anyways, Got a 2266C and Vox AC15 with JJ EL84's and a whole lot of pedals. Epiphone Les Paul Custom, Fender Strat and Ibanez Artcore. It's not the dark side dude. You know what I'd give to be able to walk in...

Re: Lefties!!!

I've got a Gibby LP and an Ibanez RG470. Amp wise I run them through a 2266, Blackstar HT-5, Epiphone Valve Jr and this old 50's 5 watt combo built by some company in Ontario, Canada. I run a custom made 2x12 cab with Eminence Governor/Wizard combo

Re: Ho's Attenuator

I've got a Weber Mass Lite 100 that I've used on a number of different amps. I've never played with any other Attenuator (so I can't compare) but this one cost $150 and does a great job of just taking the edge off right down to bedroom volume if need be. The Lite is actually pretty stripped down but...

Re: quality cover for 2266 head?

Another option is to do like me, marry a woman who sews and get her to make your amp covers for you! So far I've got one for my Traynor head and one for my Blackstar head, my VM is next. Since it's a purple one she's 'threatened' to make it lavender, which I think is actually awesome. The louder and...

Re: Buffering an fx loop.

Just a quick question, maybe SteveD can answer. Is the loop on the VM itself buffered, and if so does that then eliminate any need to have a buffer in the signal path to compensate for any signal loss by running through long cables between the send/return?

Preamp Tubes?

I just wanted to get a thread going (I couldn't find one) on what preamp tubes people have liked/disliked in the VM. I just bought a used 2266 with the stock tubes in it, I've got a quad of JJ ECC83S on hand that I'm going to try soon to see how much difference there is. My only gripe with the amp i...

Re: Effects Loop Troubleshooting

Welcome to the forum surlybastard. :Thumbs It's almost certainly a failed fet on the FX PCB, usually 'fet 3' but all three of them should be checked. It is a TN2404KL high voltage mosfet as is 'fet 2'. 'fet 1' is a j202 jfet. I recommend taking it to a qualified tech for repair as these components ...

Re: Effects Loop Troubleshooting

test the loop with a guitar cable from send->return and it should be almost the same level when you push the loop enable/disable button I tried that with a six inch pigtail and no matter what level you set the loop at the second you enable it the amp goes silent. -- Thu May 19, 2011 6:40 am -- It's...

Effects Loop Troubleshooting

Hi, New here in the forums and I was hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue I'm having. I bought a 2266 head off a guy I know, like the amp so far but for whatever reason I cannot get the effects loop to operate. When I plug in my effects loop chain into the send/return and enable the...
