Just to give some closure....thanks to Sweetwater / Marshalls great customer service / advice from this board...I replaced the back wood baffle / panel / new dust cover and my amp is back to its original glory.



Now I need a "drill proof " live-in roadcase .... Rock on!

Help me my AFD100 got butchered

Without going into nauseating details....a worker in my home was on the other side of a wall using a drill ...drilling in the wrong spot ....and didnt know what was on the other side...my AFD.........ouch..what are the damn odds of that. The cover was minced ...the back plate / panel just butchered....

I just put a Tung sol in v1 jj.in v2 and sovtek lps in pi.position..left everything else stock. Sounds great...nice crunch..not too dark..not too bright...singing sustain is there and 34 isn't too thin esp with gain pegged. Not a dramatic difference because this I think this amp generates alot of it...

I have to agree the 75s dont sound good . I bet were part of the problem. I have a Mesa Rect 4x12 at home with V30s and amp really sings through it....lesson learned.
