Re: Replacing the Reverb card with a Delay card?

SteveD, It's very interesting that the reverb card could be replaced but I wonder if more people would be interested if some sort of volume boost could be incorporated into the circuit easily. Or maybe a master volume defeat ? I for one would think very seriously about having this mod done. :pray I...

Re: FX loop and reverb issues

I have experienced the same issue. A low digital-hiss during the decay of the reverb. Doesn't sound nice at all even though its very low. I use only the low range on the VM with Master at 10 (or is it ellevven???) and preamp gains at 2,5 each. Sounds really warm and nice without the reverb. A more a...

But the pot has 7 pins and only 4 of those are in use. When you look at the pot in front with the shaft pointing towards you, and the pins are pointing down, pin 1,2 and 7 (from left) are not in use. What is the functions of pin 3,4,5 and 6. I tried to measure them with my ohmmeter but didn't quite ...

THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST FORUM EVER!!!!! WOW guys, thanks alot for all the replies. Really love all the help I get from this site. I have no intentions of modding this amp at all, but I wanted to check the bias and when that was far out I checked around the amp a bit. I love it just the way it is. (w...

Explosion in my 2466 head

Hi fellow VM guys! I bought a used VM 2466 a week ago I think the person who owned the amp before me has done something very strange things to it on the inside..... The bias-setting was waaay low (54mV, which I turned up to 79,5mV), and there seems to have been an "explosion" inside. The little 1/4w...

Ok thanks again. I will check to see what will be the easiest task for me to do.
The warranty on my amp is long gone ether way (check new topic...), so no harm done.

HI SteveD. So if I was thinking of using the spare 4 ohm tap on the transformer, is it just to move the jumper from 16 ohm to 4 ohm?? I guess that would be the green wire on the 16 ohm tap. Is there a tonal difference in series the 8 ohms to get 16 ohms, compared to parallell the two and run in 4 oh...

How about: Head ---------- Cab 1 ---------- Cab 2 16ohms-----16ohms 8ohms--------8ohms 8ohms-------16ohms--------16ohms 4ohms--------8ohms---------8ohms ???? Because I thought that two 16ohm cabs presented an 8ohm load to the head. Am I wrong? Will it do any damage to my head (yes, the amphead 2466...
