Anitoli wrote:Did you use regular 3mm led's?
Yes 3mm leds, though they are brighter than the oem red ones.

The very first one I did, I used 5mm leds and made the holes in the face plate a little bigger.

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

You mean the led's? If so i have changed all my FS's to match the LED colors on the heads and they work fine. Ahh, good. That's what I thought but this happenned while the upgraded footswitch was in use for the first time with this unit. Once we get this sorted I'm going to do a side by side test w...

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

So now that I am in a holding pattern for a min, what are your thoughts on my other question,

"Would changing the diodes in the footswitch effect the circuit in any way?".

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

You should have (1) 80c31 -40 pin, (1) 27c64 -24 pin, (1) 6n138 - 8 pin, (1) 93c46 - 8 pin, (1) HC573 - 20 pin, (1) HC574 - 20 pin. I missed either the 573 or the 574 chip. The other chips on there do not have anything to do with the midi circuit, they are for the second loop and the XLR BCO output...

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

Ok, change out all the MIDI chips. I find it's easier to take out the board and have it on a flat surface. Even though these are in ZIF sockets they still take some effort to get them in there. Also Mike to make insertion easier you may need to slightly bend the ic pins inward on a level surface as...

I get 7.63VDC Yellow X on 7805 5vdc output. I get 5.03VDC Yellow x dc out to 7805. I get 7.62VDC Seems ...

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

20200319_122116.jpg Found a burnt spade connector, the red wire that runs to the first power tube, replaced that and replaced the transistor. When I removed the old transistor tere was no trace left under it. Had to run the leg down the trace on the board to solder. No LED lights yet https://youtu....

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

If the 7815-7915 regulators are functioning properly really no need. The midi's PS can fail for many reasons, and seeing how it may have failed before leads me to think there may be one or more shorted chips on it, but first things first need to get the midi PS producing 5vdc. Ok, good, I'm not goi...

Re: 6101 MIDI Repair

Ok, so I have ordered transistors and more caps. My questions then are; Replace all transistors? Replace all caps? I also noticed that the transistor and closest cap have been replaced. If you look at the picture, the transistor is new ( it's shiny with a little rust on the top, were the other 2 are...
