Popping JCM 2000

Hi I got my JCM2000 DSL 100 serviced at Bletchley in March and it has just started to make a popping noise whilst I'm using it... It's fairly loud and only seems to happen just once 10 or 20 mins into a session....like the sorting of pop you get when switching off sometimes... Any techies got any id...

Popping Noise when I power down to standby

Hi Guys just wanted to run this by someone who's more knowledgeable than myself.. Basically after I've used the amp and I want to switch off , when I go to standby the amp makes a loudish popping noise that really annoys me. If I'm careful and slowly use the switch I can avoid this. Is this somethin...

Re: Valve Question...

Both could happen. You are more likely to have a power valve failure then a preamp tube. Just keep a couple of spares with you. If one fails just pop a new one in, you can set the bias after the gig. without looking an idiot... spotting a failed valve... is it as simple as looking for the one that ...

Valve Question...

I have a '98 JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt and have just started gigging again after a 30 year break. I had it serviced and re-valved at Bletchley a month ago and all is sounding sweet. A question I meant to ask at that time was what happens if a valve fails at a gig? Will the amp just stop working....or wi...

Dating a JCM 2000 DSL

I've just bought a JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt with a serial No of

M-1998-24-1434-A

Does this mean it was made in 1998?

Also notice that it has two pairs of different make power tubes could this be a potential problem for the amp?

Re: JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt

Cheers...Don't get me wrong I love the Roadhouse but it's a Barsteward to carry up and down stairs on your own and I figured carrying a 2X12 would be much easier without the extra weight of the amp. Are there any issues I should look out for in a second hand one that you can advise? Back in the day ...

JCM 2000 DSL 100 watt

Hi I'm a newb in the market for a new Head. I've read quite a few reviews but it appears the JCM 2000 DSL is the sort of head I'm after as it appears to offer that classic Marshall sound in a simple to use way. I play classic rock and currently use a Korg AX3000G thru a Cornford Roadhouse 50 combo. ...
