Re: JMP 2204 with PPIMV

I had a 1959 SLP Reissue that i had a PPIMV on. There is something with the tone you get with a PPIMV that i don´t like. Something in the bass frequenzies. Maybe that´s why very few amps have it. My very first Marshall wich was i combo i think it´s called 2150 (Rock and Roll combo) have it and the ...

Re: Orange Amps Unveils the Micro Dark

I'm looking forward to this. I love my little Micro Terror but always thought the lack of an FX loop was its only flaw. Can't wait to try a Micro Dark!

I don't know anything about the speakers they come with. I normally use the Micro Terror with my old Marshall 412 cabinet.

It's still the best-sounding amp I've ever played in my opinion. I don't expect anything to dethrone it, ever.

JMP 2204 with PPIMV

Here's a short tone demo of a 2204 with a PPIMV installed. I show how the PPIMV allows you to use the normal Master Volume control as an extra gain control, and how much distortion is possible without using pedals or effects.

Re: The mics thread

I'm still trying to figure it all out. I have two SM-57's, an SM-58, and a Sennheiser E906. My interface only has two channels so I'm limited right now, but I want to plug all them in at once for multitrack recording so I can really experiment with mic placement and directly compare them. I was just...

Re: Would you buy a Solid State amp?

I have a Marshall Lead 100 Mosfet, it's the only solid-state amp I've ever liked. It blends very well with my JMP 2204. Now, depending on how one defines "solid-state amp", the Orange Micro Terror is pretty awesome. It has a Class D solid-state power amp, but still has a real 12AX7 running in starve...

Re: How many US citizens belive in their government, overall

Looks like you guys in the US are as satisfied as we are in Europe with our gvmts... That's interesting to hear from a European. Lots over here in the US think Europe is some kind of socialist paradise with free school, free healthcare, everyone's rich, and no crime; and that we need to try harder ...

Re: Why ever use a trem other than a Floyd Rose?

My guitar with a Floyd Rose (not routed fully out, I can't pull up on the bar) is the only guitar that ever stays in tune. Other people hate it when I play their instruments, even if it's a non-trem, because they fall out-of-tune if I use them.

Re: JMP 2204 and PPIMV overview

Do you have both the regular MV and the PPIMV? A higher value cap will only let more of the signal pass through. Don't think it will make the volume more effective. The treble bleed cap is also on the preamp volume not the MV. Yes, the regular MV is still installed...the two volumes act in series s...

Re: Opinions on the MOSFET 100 amp from the 80's

That's an excellent price for the head. I have one, not bad for a solid-state. It got plenty of playtime when I had a DSL because the Mosfet had a more natural 1980's JCM800-type voicing. Now that I have a 2204 the Mosfet just collects dust, but it would be a good backup amp with a similar sound.

I can't wait to hear it. I doubt I'll be getting one, but it's always great to see a new Marshall in the lineup.
